In Zoom 2 (2025), the full teaser trailer reintroduces Tim Allen’s Jack Shepard (aka Captain Zoom) to a world where superheroes are now mainstream, but peace is far from guaranteed. Set years after the events of the first film, Jack has retired from his superhero life, living in seclusion and away from the spotlight. However, a new threat emerges that pulls him back into action, and this time, he isn’t the only one with powers.
The trailer opens with scenes of a futuristic city under siege by a mysterious and powerful villain known as Nexus (played by Idris Elba). Nexus is bent on harnessing a dangerous cosmic force that threatens to tear apart the space-time continuum, and only one man has the speed and experience to stop him: Captain Zoom.
Jack’s old teammates from the first film are now older, and their powers have grown stronger, but they need Jack’s leadership to reunite. We see moments of Marsha Holloway (Courteney Cox), now a fully-fledged superhero herself, using her telekinetic powers to save civilians from crumbling buildings. Dylan West (Michael Cassidy) as Houdini is also back, now a more refined superhero capable of creating incredible illusions and distractions.
The teaser hints at the rise of a new generation of super-powered kids, led by Summer Jones (Kate Mara), who is now mentoring them. The kids have raw potential, but Nexus’ power far exceeds their capabilities, and they’ll need Jack’s seasoned experience to help them master their abilities.
Jack, reluctant at first, steps back into his role as Captain Zoom after an emotional confrontation with Nexus, where the villain taunts him, saying, “The world has passed you by, old man.” What follows is a series of fast-paced, high-octane action sequences, featuring Jack zooming across dimensions, battling Nexus in mind-bending landscapes, and training the young recruits to become the next generation of heroes.
The trailer ends with an intense showdown between Captain Zoom and Nexus, with the fate of the universe hanging in the balance. The final shot teases an epic battle, as Nexus unleashes his full power, and Jack, in his signature blue suit, charges towards him in a blur of speed.
