On Oa, John is introduced to the Green Lantern Corps. He meets Kilowog (voiced by Dave Bautista) and the veteran Hal Jordan (played by Ryan Reynolds in a cameo), who begins training him in the ways of the Corps. John’s reluctance is evident—he questions why he was chosen, despite Hal’s insistence that the ring never makes mistakes. In a tense moment, John expresses his doubts: “I’m no hero, and I’m definitely not ready to protect the universe.” Hal responds with a serious tone: “The universe doesn’t wait for you to be ready.”
The trailer quickly escalates into an action-packed montage. Scenes of intergalactic battles flash by as the Green Lantern Corps fights against an overwhelming new threat—an ancient entity known as Parallax, a being of pure fear that has returned to seek vengeance on the Guardians. The final moments of the trailer show John, floating above Earth, looking down at the planet he swore to protect. He clenches his fist, the Green Lantern ring glowing brightly, as he says the iconic oath: “In brightest day, in blackest night… no evil shall escape my sight.”
