Paddington’s voiceover, with his polite and gentle tone, begins: “After all this time, I’m finally here, in the land of my dear Aunt Lucy. There’s so much to see and do!” The scene cuts to Paddington hopping on a brightly painted train, waving enthusiastically as it chugs through the picturesque Andes Mountains. “Peru is just as wonderful as Aunt Lucy always said!” he exclaims, his face pressed eagerly against the window.
The trailer then shifts to Lima, the bustling capital city. Paddington navigates the lively streets, marveling at the colorful markets filled with exotic fruits and crafts. He tries his paw at salsa dancing, causing a delightful mess but bringing smiles to everyone around him. “Just a little rusty,” he chuckles, toppling over but quickly righting himself.
A new character appears: Aunt Lucy’s old friend, Señora Rivera (Salma Hayek), a warm, adventurous woman who invites Paddington to join her on a quest. “There’s a mystery hidden deep in the Amazon, little bear,” she says with a twinkle in her eye. “Would you like to help me find it?”
The scene cuts to Paddington, covered in mud and balancing precariously on a vine bridge. “I do love a good adventure,” he declares cheerfully, just before the bridge collapses, sending him tumbling into a river. The shot shifts to him floating serenely on his back, still holding his hat. “Quite refreshing, actually!”
The trailer then takes a more serious turn, showing the villain, a scheming treasure hunter (Antonio Banderas), who seeks to exploit the hidden treasures of Peru. Paddington stands defiantly, paws on hips. “You can’t take what doesn’t belong to you!”
The climax shows a thrilling chase through the ruins of Machu Picchu, with Paddington outsmarting the villain using his quick wit and a marmalade sandwich or two.
