The first look at The Witcher: Season 4 kicks off with a sweeping view of the Continent, showing the aftermath of the chaos that ended the previous season. We see war-torn villages, smoldering battlefields, and dark forces rising from the shadows. Geralt of Rivia (now portrayed by Liam Hemsworth) stands atop a hill, his eyes scanning the devastated lands, his face hardened with determination. A voiceover from Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) resonates: “The world is changing, Geralt. The line between friend and foe is fading.”
The scene shifts to Ciri (Freya Allan), now more powerful and skilled in combat, training with her sword under Yennefer’s watchful eye. Her abilities have grown exponentially, but so has the threat pursuing her. The Wild Hunt, more menacing than ever, is closing in, determined to capture her and harness her Elder Blood for their own dark purposes. Ciri’s journey is now a race against time, not only to escape her pursuers but to master her powers and fulfill her destiny.
Geralt, meanwhile, is on a perilous quest of his own. He’s searching for a legendary artifact known as the Veilstone, which is said to have the power to seal the portals between worlds and prevent the Wild Hunt from crossing over. His journey takes him to the dangerous, war-torn Nilfgaardian Empire, where he encounters old enemies and unlikely allies. We see intense action sequences: Geralt battling monstrous creatures in dark forests, navigating treacherous mountain passes, and confronting Nilfgaardian soldiers in fierce, bloody skirmishes.
The trailer also teases a deepening conflict between Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. Yennefer, desperate to protect Ciri, urges her to flee and hide, while Geralt insists they must stand and fight. Tensions rise as they struggle to keep their fragile family together amid the chaos threatening to tear the world apart.
The climax of the trailer features an epic showdown between Geralt and the Wild Hunt’s spectral leader, Eredin. Their swords clash in a blizzard of ice and magic, with Eredin taunting Geralt: “You cannot protect her from what she is.” The screen fades to black as Ciri’s voice whispers, “The time of wolves has come.”
The final title card reads: The Witcher: Season 4 – Coming 2025.
