The film opens with Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), now retired and living a quiet life off the grid in the mountains, still haunted by the ghosts of his past missions. He’s trying to find peace, but his scars—both physical and emotional—are still fresh. His solitude is abruptly shattered when he receives an urgent call from an old ally, Nik Khan (Golshifteh Farahani). A new mission is on the table, one more dangerous than ever before: extracting a high-profile target deep within the heart of war-torn Eastern Europe.
The target is none other than Ivan Vasilev, a former Russian intelligence officer turned whistleblower who holds critical information on a global crime syndicate led by a ruthless oligarch named Sergey Volkov. Volkov’s network has infiltrated governments and agencies worldwide, and he will stop at nothing to silence Ivan before his secrets are exposed.
Tyler is reluctant at first, still dealing with the trauma from his last extraction mission, but he’s convinced when Nik reveals that Ivan’s family, including his young daughter, is also being held hostage in a heavily fortified compound. Tyler’s sense of duty and his need for redemption drive him back into action.
The trailer shows intense action sequences as Tyler and Nik, along with a small team of operatives, infiltrate the hostile territory.
They navigate through bombed-out cities, engage in brutal close-quarters combat, and face off against Volkov’s mercenaries, who are armed with cutting-edge weaponry. There’s a high-speed chase through the narrow streets of a crumbling city, with Tyler and his team narrowly escaping deadly traps and ambushes.
The climax of the film is a heart-pounding standoff at Volkov’s compound, a massive fortress on the outskirts of a desolate, snow-covered village. Tyler fights his way through waves of enemies, his determination unwavering. In a final confrontation, Tyler faces Volkov, a skilled and brutal adversary. Despite being outnumbered and wounded, Tyler manages to defeat Volkov in an intense, visceral showdown.
The movie ends with Tyler, battered but victorious, reuniting Ivan with his family. As they fly to safety, Tyler looks out over the war-torn landscape, his expression a mix of relief and melancholy, knowing that his fight for redemption is far from over.
