Uprising takes place in a dystopian near-future where the world’s governments have collapsed, and a single authoritarian regime known as “The Dominion” controls most of the planet through fear, advanced surveillance, and a ruthless military force. Cities are walled off, and citizens are constantly monitored by a system of drones and AI enforcers. Any hint of rebellion is brutally crushed.
The story begins in one of the last free zones, a slum-like underground city hidden beneath the surface known as “The Hollow.” Here, a small group of rebels led by Calla (played by a rising young star) is planning an audacious uprising to overthrow The Dominion. Calla’s parents were once prominent figures in the resistance, but they were killed in a massacre years ago, leaving her with an intense personal vendetta against The Dominion. She’s tough, resourceful, and unafraid to put her life on the line for the cause.
When Calla discovers a mysterious coded transmission from within The Dominion’s headquarters, she realizes it contains vital information: a way to shut down the entire AI surveillance grid that controls the cities. To her shock, the signal is traced back to her older brother, Elias (played by a notable actor), who she believed had died years ago during The Dominion’s takeover. Elias, now working from within the enemy ranks, sends her a message—he’s alive, and he wants to help dismantle the system from the inside.
Torn between trusting her long-lost brother and suspecting that this could be a trap, Calla and her small team of rebels set out on a dangerous mission to infiltrate the capital city, where Elias awaits. Along the way, they face brutal Dominion forces, led by the cold and calculating General Mora (rumored to be played by a high-profile actor), whose job is to eliminate all traces of rebellion.
As they move deeper into enemy territory, Calla learns more about her brother’s past and his reasons for joining The Dominion. The film’s central conflict revolves around whether Elias can truly be trusted or if he’s working as a double agent. In a climactic scene, Calla and her team reach the heart of The Dominion’s control center, only to discover a devastating betrayal that forces her to make an impossible choice—sacrifice her brother or let the uprising fail.
Uprising ends on a cliffhanger, with Calla facing an uncertain future as the rebellion teeters on the edge of victory or defeat.
