Predator 6: Wasteland takes the iconic Predator franchise to a post-apocalyptic future, combining gritty survival and high-octane action. The film stars Dwayne Johnson as a battle-hardened survivor named Jax, living in a world ravaged by climate disaster, war, and economic collapse. Earth has become a wasteland, where humanity is scattered in small, lawless settlements, trying to survive under harsh conditions.
The story begins with Jax leading a group of survivors through the desolate remains of a once-great city, scavenging for resources. Unknown to them, Earth has become a new hunting ground for the Yautja, or Predator species. Drawn by the chaos and weakened state of humanity, a new breed of Predators, even more lethal than before, arrives on Earth. These Predators are adapted to the wasteland environment, donning armor that camouflages them perfectly with the barren, desert-like terrain.
The film wastes no time plunging into action. In the opening sequence, Jax’s team is ambushed while scavenging, with the Predators picking them off one by one using their advanced stealth technology. Jax, the only one capable of fighting back, manages to fend off the initial attack, but not without realizing the terrifying nature of the new enemy.
The middle of the movie follows Jax as he seeks out a mysterious enclave of former military personnel who have survived through ingenuity and knowledge of alien technology. This group is led by Colonel Isabel Morales (Michelle Rodriguez), a fierce and brilliant strategist who has been tracking the Predators for years. She informs Jax that the Predators are hunting them for sport, with the ultimate goal of wiping out the last remnants of humanity.
As Jax and Isabel prepare for battle, they uncover an even more horrifying truth: the Predators have set up a “trophy zone,” a region where they collect their human kills as trophies, and Earth is just one of many planets in their hunting ground rotation. The duo forms a plan to infiltrate the Predators’ stronghold, using guerrilla tactics to turn the tables.
In the climactic battle, Jax faces off against the Predator leader, a massive creature twice the size of any Predator seen before. The final shot of the trailer teases their brutal hand-to-hand fight, with Jax using every ounce of strength and ingenuity to survive. The trailer ends with Jax standing victorious—barely—as he stares into the wasteland, knowing this is only the beginning of humanity’s fight for survival.
The tagline reads: “In the wasteland, the hunt never ends.”
