The first trailer for Shang-Chi 2: Wreckage of Time (2025) from Marvel Studios begins with a stunning and tranquil visual, showcasing Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) meditating at a remote temple in the mountains. The serene atmosphere is quickly shattered as strange distortions ripple through the air around him. His expression shifts from peace to concern as a mysterious voiceover from Wong (Benedict Wong) echoes: “Time is breaking… and only you can fix it.”
The camera zooms in on the Ten Rings, now fully integrated with Shang-Chi’s powers, glowing in response to the disruption. Suddenly, the scene shifts to a chaotic cityscape where time itself appears fractured—cars freeze mid-motion, buildings flicker between different eras, and people move in slow, erratic patterns. A portal opens, and Shang-Chi is pulled into a dimension where time flows unpredictably. The threat becomes clear: someone, or something, is tampering with the fabric of reality.
We are introduced to the main antagonist, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), the master of time manipulation, who has returned to wreak havoc after the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In a chilling scene, Kang stands on a floating platform, staring down at Shang-Chi and his allies, declaring: “I will remake time in my image… and no one will stop me.”
The trailer teases massive, mind-bending action sequences as Shang-Chi, aided by Katy (Awkwafina) and Xialing (Meng’er Zhang), traverses alternate realities and timelines to stop Kang. There are quick flashes of Shang-Chi battling ancient warriors in one era, then facing futuristic robots in another, as time around him bends and warps. The Ten Rings, now more powerful than ever, seem to have a unique connection to time, giving Shang-Chi a fighting chance against Kang.
We also see glimpses of surprising new allies, including Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), who warns Shang-Chi about the dangers of meddling with time. “Every move you make could destroy the future,” Strange cautions, hinting at the film’s high stakes.
In a jaw-dropping moment, Shang-Chi and Kang clash in a surreal, constantly shifting battlefield where time itself is a weapon. The visuals are breathtaking, with entire landscapes shifting in and out of existence as the two fight for control.
The trailer ends with Shang-Chi looking at the Ten Rings as they glow ominously, with Wong saying, “The rings are older than we thought… they might hold the key to saving everything—or destroying it.”
Shang-Chi 2: Wreckage of Time promises a high-octane mix of martial arts, mind-bending time travel, and deepened lore, setting the stage for an epic confrontation that could change the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever.
