BALLERINA: A JOHN WICK Story (2025)

|First Trailer (2025) Keanu Reeves, Ana de Armas | Lionsgate (HD)

The trailer begins with a sweeping aerial shot of a snow-covered cityscape at dawn. A haunting yet beautiful orchestral score plays in the background. We see a dimly lit, abandoned theater, its once-grand architecture now decaying. The camera moves inside, revealing a lone ballerina performing an elegant but intense routine on a cracked stage. Her movements are precise, almost lethal. This is Rooney (Ana de Armas), her face a mask of determination.

The screen cuts to black, and then flashes to the familiar Continental Hotel. Winston (Ian McShane) speaks in a hushed tone: “Rooney is back. She’s looking for answers—and for vengeance.” A series of quick cuts show Rooney arming herself with a variety of weapons, her expression cold and focused. “They took everything from her. Now, she’s taking it all back.”

The screen flashes to a flashback: a young Rooney as a child, practicing ballet in the same theater, her parents watching proudly. The serene moment is shattered by masked men storming in. A violent confrontation ensues, and the child’s cries are silenced by gunfire. The screen fades to black, followed by the sound of a gunshot.

Cut to the present: Rooney storms through a luxurious mansion, dispatching guards with brutal efficiency. She fights with a combination of martial arts and ballet-like agility, using her environment to her advantage. “You took my family, my life,” she snarls at a man cowering before her. “Now I’m taking yours.”

A montage follows: Rooney tearing through various underworld locations—nightclubs, alleyways, high-rise rooftops—leaving a trail of destruction. We see a tense face-off with a mysterious, scarred figure (Norman Reedus), who smirks and says, “John Wick trained you well. But you’re not the only one he taught.”

There’s a brief, tantalizing glimpse of John Wick (Keanu Reeves), his silhouette appearing in the shadows. “You can’t save her from this,” Winston’s voice warns, “but you can guide her.”

The trailer builds to a heart-pounding climax with Rooney confronting a room full of heavily armed adversaries, the odds against her. She takes a deep breath, raising her weapon and assuming a fighting stance.

The screen fades to black, and the title appears: “Ballerina: A John Wick Story.” The final line echoes: “Every move is lethal.”
