The Lilo & Stitch (2025) teaser trailer begins with a sweeping aerial shot of Hawaii’s lush, tropical landscapes. The waves crash against the shore, and we hear the faint strumming of a ukulele as the sun rises over the island. Lilo (newcomer Mia Talerico) is seen running along the beach, her signature red dress flowing behind her, her laughter filling the air. In a voiceover, Lilo says: “Ohana means family. And family means no one gets left behind.” The familiar phrase brings a sense of nostalgia, but soon the tone shifts dramatically.
The next scene cuts to deep space, where a massive, shadowy ship looms over a distant planet. Inside, the menacing Captain Gantu (Dave Bautista) stands at attention, receiving orders from the Galactic Council. The Council orders the retrieval of Experiment 626—otherwise known as Stitch. As the camera zooms in on Gantu’s cold, determined face, he growls, “This time, 626 won’t escape.”
We then see Stitch (voiced by Chris Sanders, returning to the role) on Earth, disguised as a playful pet, mischievously causing chaos in Lilo’s home. Quick cuts show him flipping through channels on a TV, eating a mountain of food, and chasing after chickens in the backyard, all while Lilo tries to rein him in. The bond between the two is clear, with moments of tenderness between the chaos. Lilo comforts Stitch, who looks troubled, and tells him, “You belong here, with me.”
But trouble is brewing. The teaser cuts to Gantu’s ship arriving in Earth’s orbit, casting a dark shadow over Hawaii. Gantu’s voice booms: “626 is a dangerous experiment. He doesn’t belong here.” Explosive scenes follow: Gantu’s troops land on the island, causing panic as they search for Stitch. Lilo and Stitch are forced to flee, using their wits and Stitch’s unique abilities to evade capture. Stitch’s super strength, speed, and his ability to climb walls are showcased in fast-paced action sequences, but the tension rises as Gantu closes in.
Amid the action, we see Nani (Sydney Agudong) desperately trying to protect Lilo, while David (Chris Pratt) provides comic relief as he attempts to fight off the alien threat. The teaser hints at emotional stakes when Lilo tearfully asks Stitch, “Will you leave me, too?” Stitch, for once, is silent, unsure of his fate.
The teaser ends with a massive showdown between Gantu and Stitch atop a volcanic cliff, where the battle between alien science and the power of family culminates. As the music swells, Stitch lets out his iconic roar before launching into action.
The trailer closes with the title Lilo & Stitch (2025), followed by the tagline: “Family never forgets.”
