In Love and Monsters Part 2 (2025), the first teaser trailer reveals an even more dangerous and adventurous world for Joel (Dylan O’Brien) and his companions. Picking up where the first movie left off, Joel, now more confident in his survival skills, sets out on a new mission—this time not only for love but also to find a way to help humanity fight back against the monster-ridden world.
The teaser opens with Joel reflecting on how much he’s changed since he first left his underground bunker. We see flashbacks of him overcoming massive creatures, growing emotionally, and reuniting with Aimee (Jessica Henwick). However, their happy reunion is short-lived as a new breed of even more dangerous monsters is starting to overrun the surviving colonies. These monsters are faster, smarter, and deadlier than before, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction.
A voiceover from Aimee suggests that the world is getting worse, and the survivors need to find a safe haven. Joel, determined to keep Aimee and his friends safe, agrees to help lead a small group across the country to a rumored sanctuary where scientists have developed a way to neutralize the monsters. The trailer shows snippets of intense action sequences, including Joel and his loyal dog, Boy, navigating new monstrous terrains—deserts filled with sand-dwelling predators, crumbling cities overrun by giant insects, and flooded areas dominated by amphibious beasts.
We also get a glimpse of new characters, including a mysterious scientist (played by Florence Pugh) who holds the key to understanding the monsters’ origins, and a grizzled former soldier (portrayed by John Boyega) who helps train Joel for the bigger fight ahead. As the group faces increasing dangers, Joel’s leadership is tested, and he must confront his fears in order to protect those he loves.
The trailer ends with a cliffhanger, showing a giant, never-before-seen monster emerging from the ocean, leaving Joel and the group in complete shock. The final shot teases an epic battle, with Joel saying, “It’s time we stop running and start fighting.”
